Soda is no bueno. I don’t care what you say, it has nothing good for you… well maybe except taste but even thats questionable. Here are 6 reasons to stop drinking soda and if you don’t drink it, then here’s high five (putting my hand to the air simulating a high five).
1. Can increase risk or heart attack or stroke.
A study of 2,600 adults found that those who drank diet soda regularly were 40 percent more likely to have a heart attack or stroke.
2. It accelerates aging.
Who wants to get old faster? What more information do you need? More? Ok…
3. Can increase infertility, obesity and cancer.
Nearly all aluminum soda cans are lined with an epoxy resin called bisphenol A (BPA), used to keep the acids in soda from reacting with the metal. BPA is known to interfere with hormones, and has been linked to everything from infertility to obesity to some forms of reproductive cancers.
4. It pollutes the environment.
The artificial sweeteners used in sodas don’t break down in our bodies (if you didn’t know this already, this is why “artificial” anything, food wise, is not good for your body), nor does it in our waste-water. It ultimately ends up polluting our environment.
5. Can increase your risk of diabetes.
Just one soda a day can increase your risk of type 2 diabetes by up to 67%. Yikes!
6. Green is the new black.
Drinking green is the way to go. Grab a green juice or smoothie packed full of heart healthy deliciousness. It may not taste like a soda but with time you will find that your body prefers it.
