A Man’s Perspective: It’s Not All About Boobs and Butt

A good friend of mine once said, “As you get older the physical becomes less and less important.” I could not agree more. Do not get me wrong, an attractive exterior is still something to be admired and it will still attract one’s attention, but it will not create a strong connection or an everlasting impression. It is the qualities that define someone that makes them truly sexy and entrancing. Everyone’s physical appearance is different and how they maintain that appearance is different. The physical lacks longevity, embrace who you are and be proud of it. Attractiveness will always be…

California Adventures: Visiting Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks

Nature can have a powerful impact on you, just as it did in my recent trip to some of California’s most beautiful National Parks. My manfriend and I took a trip to Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks for New Years, and where there are hundreds of things to do, the following are a few of the things we did, but worth a mention. So if you are thinking or ever wanted to visit these pristine national parks, add the following to your list. Yosemite National Park is well known, not everyone has visited it but most have heard about this…

How Being in Nature Reminds Us of Our True Nature

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” ~ John Muir During the time between Christmas and New Years, my manfriend and I headed to the mountains. I had been craving the forest. I was lusting for the feel of the crisp air on my face and the smell of the snow drenched soil. I needed to hug a tree, knowing my medicine lies within those trees and beneath the starry sky. A break was in order for us both from the high speed craziness of the city. We sat in the pizza hall at Curry Village…

Throw Your New Year Resolutions Out the Window

It’s a new year, so new goals, new intentions… or maybe old ones from last year revisited? Just because it’s a new year doesn’t mean we throw last years goals out the window or does it? So what if you didn’t accomplish what you set out to do at the beginning of last year. There are no resolution police. The only person you have to be honest with about it is yourself. But why do some resolutions not stick? We all know that setting new goals at the beginning of the new year is a lost cause. Fuck new year…

One Life, Two Perspectives

Perspective One: My life sucks. I’m broke, I hate my commute to work, I’m too tired to workout and I never have time to do anything I want to do. I got kicked out of my place in Ocean Beach a few months ago and now have to find another place to live but the problem is that everything is too expensive and landlords have stupid rules about dogs. Now I have to live at my manfriend’s mom’s house in San Clemente. It’s great and all but I have to drive 45-60 minutes to work everyday. It sucks gas out…

Thoughts I’ve Had Lately

Just some random things that have popped into my head lately… * While in Yoga class the other day: I noticed that most of my focus went to distinguishing my right from my left. I’ve been personal training for years and practicing Yoga even longer, one would think that I’d have my right figured out from my left, but even I get confused at times. So I can imagine how many new students, even more experienced ones, are up in their heads trying to remember which is which and probably not listening to three quarters of what I’m saying when…

Just Because Your Ego is Talking Doesn’t Mean You Have to Listen

It’s been awhile since I’ve stepped into a Yoga studio to practice. I’ve been teaching for a year now and have only done my own personal practice at home or watched videos on YogoGlo, but I have recently been wanting to be back into a studio setting. Today I went to a studio that I had never been to before. I didn’t know any of the teachers or students. I was an unfamiliar face and I liked it that way. I knew that, before I even stepped into the studio, that my mind would be comparing my teaching abilities with…
