Simple Pleasure #73: DIY Natural Beauty Products
Lately I have been getting more and more into making my own beauty products and natural remedies. Up to this point I have made body scrubs, skin masks, toner, anti-wrinkle serum and, at the moment, am working on perfecting a facial moisturizer.
I am obsessed.
My skin is LOVING the natural products and so is my checking account. Most things that I am using I already have in my home. Things like coconut oil, olive oil, grape seed oil, honey, salt, foods, sugar, flowers, and some essential oils which I order from Mountain Rose Herbs.
So except to read more about natural beauty and do-it-yourself recipes… even for the guys too, as I learn more, the more I share with you.
I assume you can probably tell why this is a simple pleasure of mine… making my own beauty products with all natural ingredients… I am so in love.
Here is a recipe I found and tried out a few days ago. I know it says “holiday” but it seems that it can be good all year round. Give a whirl and let me know what you think!
Holiday Honey Face Mask
2 Tbsp. raw honey
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
Mix all ingredients together well in a small bowl.
Using your fingers, gently spread the mixture all over your face. Use as much as you’d like–this is good stuff! You’ll look like you have native war paint on your face, but you’ll smell amazing! Lick your fingers when you’re done applying it to your face 😉
Leave the mixture on your face for half an hour, then rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow with a thin layer of extra virgin coconut oil as a moisturizer.
