Bali Adventures

Ohhhh Bali, where do I start? I can easily see why people fall in love with the place and never want to leave. Gorgeous beaches, amazing food, cheap prices and given surfers from all over the world travel there… amazing bodies as well. I showed up in Bali not having a clue what I was going to be doing… other than laying on the beach of course. I can tell you not having any expectations was the best thing I could of done. I had no attachments to how anything was supposed to go and so… whatever ended up arising…

Beaches You Dream About

Hey all!!! Bali is beautiful and treating me well. I’ve eaten a ton of really good food and seen a handful of beaches… guess that’s what I get for hanging with surfers. 🙂 I’m staying in the town of Jimbaran and I’m not sure of how much of the rest of Bali I’ll see. We are hoping to make it to Ubud and see a little bit more of the traditional Bali. Where we are at seems to be westernized quite a bit – bummer but still awesome. I’ve been eating large amounts of Thai food, Indonesian and toast with…

Simple Pleasure #14: The Food in Europe

( Giant Seabass Steak panfried with Safron Salt at La Mediterranee ) I am in love with Europe… and the food. I am completely aware that I only visited a small portion but it was enough to have me hooked. I think it’s maybe the relaxed feeling one may experience there. They seem to operate at a slower pace. I mentioned in another post, 7 things I learned in Europe how…

Road Trip in the South of France

If ever traveling the South of France or are planning a trip consider doing a road trip from Castellane to Moustiers Sainte-Marie. We did it in two (long) days but you could easily add some extra time. We were staying in Mougins and started there. Renting a car with a GPS is key, given that trying to follow a map anywhere in France is practically impossible. The road is a windy one so choose a car that hugs curves well and has great gas millage. Map the route on Google maps first so you at least have a visual idea…

Self Created Luck

Do I consider myself lucky? I sure do but I believe luck is self created. We all are lucky, can be lucky and have been lucky. And what some consider lucky others may consider a curse. A lot of folks have said to me “oh you’re so lucky you get to go to France” and yes, yes I am lucky I got to go to France but their statement, in some cases, is followed up with “I wish I was that lucky” or something similar to those lines. In my personal opinion I believe we create our luck. I mean…

4th of July Travel: From San Diego to France

Happy American Holiday Fourth of July. I do have to admit that while it’s not my favorite holiday it is one of the most enjoyable. I mean come on, what other holiday do we celebrate by stripping down to almost nothing, laying on the beach, drinking summer cocktails and bbqing meat and then to top if off pollute the sky with a mess of beautiful fireworks? That’s the great part of celebrating the fourth. People have the day off from work and we officially have an excuse to lounge around all day in the sun without feeling guilty. Families come…
