The Wellness Doer Gift Guide

Christmas is an interesting time of year for me. When I was a kid it was the best time of the year. Stocking stuffers, more gifts than I really needed, fresh baked cinnamon rolls, and the gift buying (more like my Dad buying it and saying it was from me)… were some of the things I would look forward to every year.

Now as an adult the meaning of Christmas has changed for me. I don’t want all the un-needed gifts, I still love the fresh baked cinnamon rolls, but I’m not very keen on gift buying anymore. I feel like there is a lot of pressure put on us (those of us that celebrate Christmas) to buy gifts. Now don’t get me wrong, I love giving gifts, but I want to give gifts that people can actually use, really need or can eat. All this “black friday” sales and every other sale that is out there really just ruins the vibe for me. I don’t feel like I need to spend money on things just for the sake of giving a gift. I’d rather take someone out for lunch or dinner and have an inspiring conversation then give them a gift that they maybe will like.

But… I do love shopping, and maybe my current income can’t support the level of shopping that I would like to do, I can browse the web and admire the adorable things that are out there in this world for purchase.

So if you do want to buy a gift for someone (it doesn’t even have to be for Christmas, maybe it’s a “just because” gift) these are some things I’ve found that I thought were fun, useful and unique. Yes, I know this may be a little late for a gift guide for Christmas but we don’t need to limiting ourselves to gifting just at the holidays.

Happy shopping, but remember… don’t just buy a gift of for the sake of buying a gift because that is what everybody dos at this time of year, make user it’s something that is really needed or can be used (and will be used) frequently by the receiver or… something they can eat. And if you can’t come up with a material item, make something or just spend some time with that person. Sometimes people need our presence more than presents. Love you guys!
